OBIT

Bobby Gene Hayes Sr., 78, of Jacksonville passed away on March 9, 2021. He was born in McMinn County, Tennessee on December 12, 1942. Bobby was welcomed into Heaven by his parents, Henry and Elsie Hayes; his wife of forty-eight years, Prosie Hayes and his sister, Judy Monroe.

Bobby was a proud, lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus. He and his wife, Prosie were active members at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Jacksonville and the Fil-Am Association. Bobby served his country for twenty-five years, retiring as a Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force. After retiring from the military, Bobby worked for the Arkansas Transportation Department. He was a selfless, loving man who would do anything for someone in need.

Those left to cherish Bobby’s memory include his daughter, Hazel (Lori) Lednick-Hayes; son, Bobby Hayes Jr.; grandson, Henry Lednick-Hayes and siblings, Linda (Johnny) Miller and Donnie Hayes.

Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday, March 15, 2021 at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church with a Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at the church. Bobby will be entombed at Chapel Hill Memorial Park after the service. Memorial gifts in Bobby’s memory may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Charity (https://www.dav.org/ways-to-give/). Flocerfida “Prosie” Hayes, age 83, of Jacksonville went to be with her Lord on Sunday, April 2, 2017. She was born August 24, 1933 in Tabuelan, Cebu Philippines to the late Herminigildo and Arig Ruiz. She was a devoted member of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church where she was involved with the Knights of Columbus, St. Jude Altar and Rosary Society, she was a Rosary maker and served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was also a member of the Filipino-American Association. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by several siblings.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years Bobby G. Hayes, her daughter Hazel Lednick-Hayes (Lori), her son, Bobby G. Hayes, Jr. and numerous siblings.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary following at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church with Father Andy Smith officiating. Entombment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
