April 10, 1913 - February 10, 1970
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Urbana for Johnnie Lee (Preacher) Miles who died February 8 in a local hospital. The Rev. J. H. Rowe will officiate. Mr. Miles was born April 10, 1913, and was the son of Tee and Nettie Moore Miles. He was a member of St. James Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Juanita Poe, Oakland, Calif.; four sisters, Mrs. Annie Lee Morris, Mrs. Virgie Ree Johnson, Mrs. Lula Mae Hall, all of Oakland, and Mrs. Odessa Green, Detroit, Mich.; three brothers, Waymond Miles, Urbana, Grady Miles and Calvin Miles, both Oakland,; his grandmother, Mrs. Delphia Gaines, El Dorado; and two grandchildren. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery under the direction of Andrews Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Ollie Buttler, Lovell Rogers, James L. Nelson and Miller McDuffie.
