When Davis Hatfield Baker was born on June 9, 1850, in Campbell, Tennessee, his father, Samuel, was 26 and his mother, Margaret", was 23. He married Susan Josephine Broyles on October 23, 1870, in his hometown. They had 16 children in 23 years. He died on January 22, 1934, in Faulkner, Arkansas, at the age of 83, and was buried there.
