RHODES, Anna LYNN - Mrs. Anna L. Rhodes, wife of J.E. Rhodes, former resident of Centerton community, died suddenly of heart disease Monday, October 7, 1929 at her home in Raymondville, Texas at the age of 29 years. Her mother, Mrs. Mary Lynn of this city who was called there by her death, returned with the body Monday morning. Funeral services were held at the Lynn home Saturday afternoon, the Rev. R.S. Hayden officiating. Burial was made in the City Cemetery. Mrs. Rhodes was born near Centerton Feb. 19, 1900, where her girlhood days were spent. At the age of 16 she united with the Community Church in Centerton. In 1920 she was married to J.E. Rhodes and moved shortly afterwards to Wichita, Kans. They returned to Centerton where they lived until three years ago when they moved again to Texas. She was apparently in good health until suddenly stricken with a fatal attack. Besides the mother she is survived by her husband and five children, Lynn, Nadine, Irene, Pauline and Wanda Lee. Also by four sisters: Mrs. Sadie Rhodes, Keota, Okla.; Mrs. Alice Wolcott, Chicago; Mrs. Hallie Nichols, Hiwasse and Ruth Lynn of the home; also by five brothers, J.W Lynn, Tulsa; H.F. Lynn, Odebolt, Iowa; James Lynn and Vernon and Victor Lynn of the home. Miss Blanche Carney of this city is an aunt of the deceased.

Funeral services for Mrs. J.E. Rhodes, aged 29, whose death had occurred two days earlier at her home at San Antonio, Texas, were held here Saturday afternoon at the home of her mother, Mrs. Mary Carney Lynn, on East Thirteenth Street, conducted by the Rev. R.S. Hayden, pastor of the Bentonville Methodist Episcopal Church, South. Interment was made in the Bentonville cemetery. Mrs. Rhodes was born at the former Lynn country home a few miles west of Bentonville and was reared in this section.

She is survived by her husband and five children, her mother, and five brothers: Joe Lynn of Tulsa; Jim Lynn, Bert Lynn, of Iowa, and Victor and Vernon Lynn, twins and students in the Bentonville high school; and four sisters: Mrs. Alice Wolcott of Chicago; Mrs. Sadie Rhodes of Keota, Okla.; Mrs. Hallie Nichols of Centerton, Ark. and Miss Ruth Lynn, who is also a student of the local high school. Mrs. Rhodes is also survived by two aunts, Mrs. Blanche Carney of Bentonville and Mrs. S.D. Woods of Sulphur Springs, Ark., and two uncles, Will Carney of Kansas City and Bert Carney of Oklahoma City. She was a granddaughter of the late WA. Carney, for many years a resident of Bentonville.
