Wallie Joyce Burnside Purvis, 79 of El Dorado, AR passed away Monday, July 10, 2017, at her son's home in Maryville, TN.
Wallie was born in Strong, AR on March 18, 1938, to Coleman Walton and Mamie Russell Walton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two amazing husbands, Ronald Burnside who passed away in 1981, and Edward Purvis who passed away in 2015, and four brothers and two sisters.
She lost her mother when she was a baby and was lovingly raised by her Uncle Elmer and Aunt Georgia Russell Black. Wallie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She always had a smile for everyone. She loved cooking and telling Ed how to tend the garden, but her biggest love was for her family. She was a lifelong resident of the area.
Survivors include eight children, James Burnside and wife Debbie of Maryville, TN, Michael Burnside and wife Rita of El Dorado, AR, Tinker Purvis of Dunn, LA, Sissy Bogner and husband Bruce of Fort Smith, AR, Brian Purvis of Garland, TX, Rhonda Marsh and husband Tony of Tyler, TX, Greg Purvis and wife Nina of Aubrey, TX and Ginger Wilhelms and husband Lawrence of Garland, TX, two brothers, J.C. Walton and wife Audrey of Gurdon, AR, and Tommy Walton and wife Mertie of Texas City, TX, one sister, Pansy Black Moore of Bastrop, LA, twelve grandchildren, two special granddaughters, Mechalley and Miranda, who took such loving care of her during her illness, and twelve great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, July 14, 2017, 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Bailey Funeral Home, El Dorado.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2017 at First Baptist Church, Urbana AR with Rev. Jody Jackson officiating. Interment will be in Urbana Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, El Dorado, AR.
Pallbearers will be, Lynn Moore, Spencer Moore, Jeffrey Moore, Mason Moore, Alex Moore, Greg Purvis, Lawrence Wilhelms, and Richard Dyer.
Any planned memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
