Homer Pierre Ledbetter, 30, died in a plane crash Tuesday, April 4 in Utah while on a planned flight with the U. S. Air Force Reserve. His home was in Salt Lake City, where he was salesman for the U. S. Rubber Company.

He was born July 5, 1936, at Rogers, Ark., the son of Mrs. Bonnie Sampier Ledbetter and the late Homer C. Ledbetter, former athletic coach at Rogers High School, and was a nephew of Rogers attorney, J. Wesley Sampier.

Besides his mother he is survived by his wife, Susan; one son, Russell; and one daughter Valerie; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Effie Sampier-Troth, of Rogers, and his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Gertrude Ledbetter, Springdale.

He graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1958, where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity and of ROTC and served four years in the U. S. Army. He was a member of the Episcopal Church.

Funeral service was held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Andrews Episcopal Church with the Rev, Edward Salmon officiating Burial was in Rogers Cemetery.

Pall bearers were his first cousin, John W. Sampier, his brother-in-law, Carl Bayler, his uncles, Cheater Ledbetter, James W. Frame, F. Doyle Sampier and J. Wesley Sampier.
