Mickey R. "Memaw" Welborn, age 94, of Hot Springs, died Tuesday, October 29, 2019.
She was born on July 9, 1925, in El Dorado, the daughter of Louie Roper and Martha Lindsey Roper. On April 1, 1942, she married Charles C. Welborn, who preceded her in death on January 17, 2000. She was also preceded in death by one son, Ronald Welborn; her parents; and one sister, Oca McKinzie.
Mickey was a Baptist in faith. She was a very hard-working woman. From 1945 - 2007, she worked for Oaklawn in various capacities. She also worked as a bookkeeper for Cooper Communities for many years. Mickey loved her family dearly and she will be missed by everyone that knew her.
She is survived by two sons, Robert O Neal Welborn (Barbara) of Memphis, Tennessee and Charles R. Welborn of Hot Springs; one daughter, Brenda Sue Walker Taylor (Dennis) of Memphis, Tennessee; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 2, 2019, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs with Bro. George Lynch officiating.
Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Friday evening.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Verser, Beau Verser, Spencer White, Kyle Briggs, Scott Welborn and Jody Miller.
