TRENT, Sallie WOOLSEY - Last Thursday Mr. Albert Trent was called to Eureka Springs by a telegram announcing the serious illness of his mother. She had been in delicate health for some years and the worst was feared for her. She rapidly grew worse and died on Saturday. Her remains were brought over Sunday and interred by the side of her deceased husband at Farmington on Monday. She was a noble christian woman whose faith had been severely tried by the heavy hand of affliction. She died as she had lived, rejoicing in the hope of an immortality beyond the grave.

Mrs. Sallie Trent, whose maiden name was Woolsey, relict of Rev. Josiah Trent, was born in Illinois Feb. 22, 1813. Her parents came to Arkansas when she was four years old and settled in Washington county, near where Farmington now stands. At 18 years of age she professed faith in Christ and joined the Methodist church under the ministry of the now sainted John Harrell. She was among the first members of Ebenezer class, which was the first Methodist church ever organized in Washington county. She was married to Rev. Josiah Trent Feb. 21, 1833, was the mother of eleven children - four sons and seven daughters. Her husband and three of her children died in the faith some years before she did. She was taken with a severe attack of typhoid fever in Sept. 1882 which resulted in paralysis and left her almost entirely helpless. She was taken to Eureka Springs in June last with the hope that these healing waters might prove beneficial to her but was taken suddenly ill and died in great pain July 11, 1885. Her remains were brought home and interred beside her husband in Ebenezer* cemetery. Sister Trent was of quiet and meek spirits, such, we are persuaded, as is of great price in the sight of God. Her life was an honor to the church of Christ. Her patience amid manifold sufferings was surpassing. She was never known to murmur. No family of children, it might be truthfully said, ever loved a mother more dearly or confided more implicitly in a mother's love. Her pastor, J.A. Walden.
