Joseph Paoli, 74, of West Fork died Sept. 5 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born July 21, 1916, in Chicago, the son of Angelo and Elveria Palmerinni Paoli. He was a retired truck driver, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and served in the Coast Guard. He was a member of the West Fork First Baptist Church and had lived in the area 10 years, moving from Chicago. His wife, Irene L. Paoli, preceded him in death Dec. 27, 1986.
Survivors include one son, Michael Paoli of West Fork; one daughter, Audrey Berti of Chicago Heights; one sister, Anita Cataldi of Elmwood Park, Ill., and one grandchild.
Services were Saturday, Sept. 8 at Moore's Chapel of Fayetteville with Pastor H.D. McCarty officiating. Burial was in National Cemetery.
