Gaynell Elaine Meeks
September 10, 1944 - April 15, 2016
Gaynell Elaine Bragg Meeks, 71, of Ravenden, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at her home, on Friday, April 15, 2016. Gaynell was born on September 10, 1944, in Ravenden, to Claude and Juanita Halstead Bragg.
Gaynell loved to spend time with her family. She was a great cook and was famous for her “nanny burgers”.
On December 15, 1962, she married the love of her life, Boyd Winston Meeks. They were married for fifty-three years.
Gaynell was a member of the Ravenden Church of Christ.
Gaynell is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lawrence Bragg, and Cloyce Bragg.
Survivors include her husband, Boyd Winston Meeks, of the home; son, David Meeks, of Ravenden; daughters, Susan (Bobby) Houltzhouser, of Ravenden, and Elaina (Rocky) Gann, of Ravenden Springs; sister, Janet Starnes, of Ravenden; grandchildren, Amber Snyder, Johnnie Snyder, Ashley Stallings, Nathan Gann, Ryan Gann, Katelyn Gann; great grandson, Harlem Scott; one great grandchild on the way, Henley Scott.
Visitation will be held at the Fears Family Funeral Home, on Monday, April 18, 2016, from 10:00 am – 12:00 noon.
A Graveside Service will begin at 2:00 pm, at the Opposition Cemetery, near Ravenden, on Monday, April 18, 2016; Mack Downey, officiating.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Nathan Gann, Johnnie Snyder, Ryan Gann, Greg Starnes, Jeremy Brown, and Roger Dexter.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Fears Family Funeral Home, in Pocahontas.
