George Edward Massey Jr., 79, of Jacksonville passed away Sunday, March 1, 2020. He was born May 12, 1940 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late George and Willie Massey. Mr. Massey retired from the United States Airforce after thirty years of service, and also after sixteen years with the State of Arkansas. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his wife of over forty three years, Clara Mae Massey, the love of his life with whom he has gone home to meet.

Survivors include his children, Sean Massey, Pamela (Jason) Peters, and Sandra Prater; and grandchildren, Walter Conley, Ashley (Dango) Kumwenda, and Michael Conley, Jr.

Funeral services are 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.

Claria Mae Massey, 68, of Jacksonville died Wednesday, September 30, 2015. She was born July 24, 1947 in Hensley to the late Clyde and Leola Beard West. Mrs. Massey retired from Maybelline and also traveled the world with her husband George, as he served in the United States Air Force. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters; Dorothy, Gloria and Sue. Mrs. Massey is survived by her husband of 43 years, George E. Massey, Jr., their children; Sean Massey and Pamela Peters (Jason), grandchildren; Alex Conley, Ashley Conley and Michael Conley and sisters; Ellen Jeans (Elton), Pauline Beard (Joseph) and Janice Skinner (Robert). Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 5, 2015 with funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Entombment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home (501)982-2136.
