Arthur Max Willett, 49, of Rt. 6, El Dorado, died Wednesday night in a Shreveport, La., hospital apparently from injuries sustained in an auto accident Dec. 30 on Highway 15 south of El Dorado. Mr. Willett was driving a pickup truck that collided with the end of a bridge between Dodge City and Three Creeks. He was taken to Warner Brown Hospital but was later moved to Shreveport for treatment of severe facial lacerations. Born Feb. 2, 1920 in Union County, he was the son of Scott and Corene Murphy Willett. He was a veteran of World War II, and was employed as a pipefitter. Mr. Willett was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Violet Brasher Willett; four sons, Ronald David Willett, Joe Scott Willett and Robert G. Willett, all of Junction City; three brothers, Murray Willett, New Martinsville, W. Virginia, Randolph Willett and John Willett, both of El Dorado; and a sister, Mrs. H. W. Meek of El Dorado. Funeral services will be announced by Rumph Mortuary. (El Dorado Times - January 8, 1970)
