OBIT
Marco Polo Blackburn left this world on July the 4th. Marco served as a police officer for the City of Jacksonville from 1977-1997. He is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Betty Lou Eileen Blackburn.

He is survived by a sister-in-law, Norma Keller and nephew, Brian Keller of O'Fallon Illinois. He is also survived by step-sisters, Barbara Allen and Mary Moore along with many nieces and nephews, in addition to countless friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home with Bonnie Tatom officiating. Entombment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. A special thanks for the years of care and kindness to Elmcroft of Sherwood. Also a heartfelt thank you to Des Arc Nursing and Rehab for the unswerving devotion and affection that made Marco's last years as easy as possible. Betty Lou Eileen Blackburn, age 83, of Jacksonville, Ark., passed away Monday, May 12, 2014 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born Nov. 18, 1930 in Collinsville, Ill. to the late Joseph and Emma (Poneleit) Maddalino. She married Marco P. Blackburn on Sept. 30, 1957. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Wilma Stahura. Betty and Marco first met at the Miner's Theater in Collinsville, Ill. where she had worked at the popcorn concession stand for a number of years. After they married she did babysitting in all the various states he was transferred to while in the U.S. Air Force. Betty is survived by her husband, Marco P. Blackburn of Jacksonville; sister, Norma Keller of O'Fallon, Ill.; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2014 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Chapel. Entombment will follow at Chapel Hill Mausoleum in Jacksonville. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014 at the funeral home. Please sign the online guest register at www.mooresjacksonvillefuneralhome.com.
