Charles A. Slaughterbeck, 74, of Hot Springs, passed away August 27, 2013. He was born September 23, 1938 in Hot Springs to Charles and Hazel Slaughterbeck. Charles was a member of Gardner United Methodist Church and the Elks Club. He graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1957 and attended Henderson State Teachers College. Charles retired from Reynolds Aluminum Co. where he worked as a tool and die maker. Charles enjoyed gardening and was a custom knife maker. He is predeceased by his parents, daughter, Tamra Slaughterbeck, son-in-law, Richard Bosson, sister, Caroline Slaughterbeck, brother, Gerald Slaughterbeck and father-in-law, Richard G. Snodgrass. Loving survivors include his wife of 53 years, Shirley Slaughterbeck, sons, David Slaughterbeck and Chris Slaughterbeck, daughter, Julie Bosson, brother, Paul Slaughterbeck, of Missouri, sister, Charlene Grey, of California, mother-in-law, Mary Geneva Snodgrass, sister-in-law, Eloise (Richard) Meeks , nieces and nephews. A gathering of family and friends will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, August 30, 2013 at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home. The family wishes to express a special thank you to Arkansas Hospice and the doctors and staff of UAMS’s ALS-MD Clinic.
