Margaret Louise Sullens Bohun born July 16, 1928 in Truman, Arkansas passed away peacefully in West Monroe, Louisiana at the home of her daughter Eydie Roark.

She was raised in Hoxie, Arkansas. She attended Williams Baptist college and Arkansas State University, Margaret completed her education at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock where she obtained her Bachelor’s and Masters of Education and completed all of her coursework for her Doctorate Degree. She continued her life-long education throughout the years attending numerous courses and workshops.

Margaret Louise began working from a very young age at her family’s farm. She spent many summers picking and planting cotton and always said her cotton sack was never full. She often told a stories of picking cotton with Johnny Cash. She worked at the Red Star cafe’ and other businesses that were owned by her family. While working at the Salad Bowl, she met the love of her life Anthony “Tony” Bohun. They eloped on September 4, 1958 in Hardy, Arkansas. Once married, she traveled to numerous countries as an Air Force Wife. In her travels, she enjoyed sipping wine and having food cooked by her husband and many new friends.

She returned to the states and they moved to Jacksonville, Arkansas and started their family. Margaret Louise worked as a teacher for Pulaski County School District for over 30 years. She retired from Sherwood Elementary where she had touched thousands of lives. She often could not go into town without parents and teachers thanking her for her service in education. She was a long-standing member of Hoxie United Methodist Church and attended First UMC Jacksonville.

Preceding her in death are her parents O.A. Sullens, Edna Carly Sullens, her brothers James and Dennis Sullens, her loving and devoted husband Anthony “Tony” Bohun.

She is survived by one Brother, Kenneth Sullens (Patsy) of Kewanee, Illinois; her daughter, Eydie Roark (Russ) of West Monroe, Louisiana; Grand-children, Allison Crews ( Brandon), Kristin O’Quin (Jared), Katelyn Chapman (Justin), Chase Roark ( Madalyn); Great-grand children, Ellie Spencer, Emma O’Quin, Devin Boulas & Easton Bradley Chapman; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral Service will be Sunday, May 2, 2021 at 2 PM in the Hoxie Methodist Church with Rev. Beth Perdue officiating. Pallbearers are Russ Roark, Chase Roark, Jared O’Quin, Brandon Williams, Justin Chapman, and Ken Roark. Interment will follow in the Lawrence Memorial Park.

Memorials in her name can be made to St. Jude’s hospital.
