Billy John Holder, 84 of Walnut Ridge died August 22, 2017.

Born August 30, 1932 in Walnut Ridge, son of John (Pete) Lilly (Dessie) Overstreet Holder. He was united in marriage to Mary Mae Phillips on October 10, 1953.

He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked for most his life for Lawrence County as an Assessor and Treasurer. He was a member of the United Freewill Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Weldon (Buddy) and Bobby Holder; three sisters, Mardel Manning, Ann Mays and Wanda Bowers.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Mae Holder of Walnut Ridge; two sons, Johnny Holder of Walnut Ridge and Jeff Holder of Allen, TX and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be Sunday, August 27, 2017 at 2 P.M. in the Bryan Chapel with Bro. Glenn Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Lawrence Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 1 P.M. till 2 P.M. Sunday.

Mary Mae Holder, 83, of Walnut Ridge; died April 23, 2021 in the Lawrence Hall Nursing Center in Walnut Ridge.

Born July 24, 1937 in Portia; daughter of the late, Clyde and Marie Doyle Phillips. Mary was united in marriage to Billy J. Holder on October 10, 1953. She worked and retired as a Teller for the First National Bank in Walnut Ridge. Mary enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family and friends. She loved the gospel and felt at home at her church, she was a dedicated member of the United Freewill Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 63 years Billy J. Holder; one brother, Richard Phillips; and two sisters, Iris Summit and Kathy Hill.

Survivors include her two sons, Johnny Holder of Walnut Ridge and Jeff Holder of Allen, TX; one sister, Rose Carol Clark of North Little Rock; her church family and many other relatives and friends.

Graveside service will be Sunday, April 25, 2021 at 1 P.M. in the Lawrence Memorial Park with Bro. Glenn Smith officiating. Pallbearers will be her family and friends.

Visitation will be from 12 P.M. till 12:45 P.M. in the Bryan Funeral Home Sunday.
