Margaret's husband, John W. Cavaness, CORPORAL, Company A, 1st Arkansas (Bell's Regiment), Civil War Confederate, was reported as having died on September 7, 1864 while in a Union prisoner of war camp at Fort Delaware, and was buried in a mass trench grave across the river near Fort Mott, New Jersey.
