GRAVETTE — William T. Johnson, age 86, of Gravette, departed this life Nov. 25, 2011, at Concordia Health and Rehab in Bella Vista. Bill was born Sept. 25, 1925, in Alamogordo, N.M., to Thomas Ebert and Iva Johnson.

Bill grew up in Westville, Okla. At 17 years of age, he and his brother, Thomas Jr., moved to San Diego, Calif., and enlisted in the United States Navy. After being injured while serving, he moved back to Westville where he met Freda Mae Reese.

They were married on Aug. 25, 1946, and three years later they moved to the Mount Pleasant Community near Gravette where they bought a small farm to raise their three sons.

He was preceded in death by their first born son, Larry Trent in 1947; his parents; grandson, Reese Johnson; arid his wife, Freda Mae Johnson, in 2004.

He is survived by his sons, Billy Wayne Johnson and wife Debbie of Gravette, Eddie Johnson and wife Nancy of Springfield. Mo., Fred Johnson and wife Kelly of Owasso, Okla.; a brother, Thomas Ebert Johnson and wife Lela; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.

Bill attended Donivan Full Gospel Church, then in later years Bella Vista Assembly of God in Bella Vista.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011, at Bella Vista Assembly of God. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Bella Vista Assembly of God, officiated by Pastor Jonathan Watson. Interment will follow in Daniel Cemetery.

The Family of Bill Johnson would like to thank Concordia Health Center for the love and care they have gave him while there. Also to Stan and Judy Nelson and their care team from BVAG who faithfully ministered to him.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bella Vista Assembly of God building fund.

GRAVETTE — Freda Mae Johnson, 79, of Gravette died Sept. 4, 2005, at her home. She was born Aug. 2, 1926, in Hiwasse to Fred H. and Orpha E. Hart Reese. She was a lifetime resident of Gravette and was a homemaker. She was a member of Donivan Full Gospel Church. She enjoyed writing songs, singing, doll collecting and building doll houses. She married William T. Johnson on Aug. 25, 1946. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Reese Johnson.

Survivors include her husband, William T. Johnson of the home; three sons, Billy Wayne Johnson and wife Debbie of Gravette, Eddie L. Johnson and wife Nancy of Springfield, Mo., and Fred H. Johnson and wife Kelly of Tulsa, Okla.; one brother, Fred H. Reese of Bella Vista; one sister, Thelma Hacker of Bentonville; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Bella Vista Assembly of God Church. The Rev. A.W. Lavender will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Richard, Jared, Bill, Colton, Roman and Cameron Johnson.

Burial will be in Daniel Cemetery at Gravette.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bela Vista Assembly of God Missions Group, 1771 Forrest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, 72715.

Arrangements are by Callison-Lough Funeral Service in Gravette.
