Mrs. Lena Grant, 56, died Saturday at a hospital in Fordyce. She was a lifetime resident of Bearden, and was a member of a Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Hubert King and Mrs. Charles Short of Bearden; three sons Harold Grant, Doyle Grant of Dumas and Junior Grant of Bearden; two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Davis of Little Rock and Mrs. Hazel Ryan of Bearden, four brothers, Lide Pate of Granite City, Ill., Carson Pate of Little Rock; Tommy and Victor Pate of Bearden, and nine grandchildren. The body was carried to the home of Mrs. King in Bearden where it remained until service time. Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at Bearden Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. John R. Smith and Leroy Jones officiating. Burial was in Moss Cemetery. Camden Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. (Camden News - April 13, 1964)
