James Shelton Barnett, age 78 of Monticello, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021, at his home in Monticello. He was born May 4, 1942, in Drew County, AR to the late Unis Barnett and Eva Lassiter Barnett.
He was a retired Monticello Airport Manager, member of Life Church and former President of Monticello Riding Club. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Barnett; a niece, Nina Duncan; and a nephew, Bryan Barnett.
Survivors include his wife, Dawn Barnett of Monticello; two daughters, Traci Holland and husband Steve and Jamie Jo Clark and husband Matt all of Monticello; one brother, Buddy Barnett of Monticello; three sisters, Nancy Scroggins, Jane Barnett and Alice Barnett all of Monticello; a grandson, Carter Clark; a granddaughter, Lauren Hawkins and husband Austin; and one great granddaughter, Josey Beaux Grace Hawkins.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at Life Church with burial in Campground Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 12:00-1:00 p.m. preceding the funeral service at the church.
