Mencil Eugene Riggs, 71, of Hoxie, Arkansas died Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at his residence.

Born in Randolph County, July 13, 1931. He was a retired employee of Esna and served in the Korean War. He was of the Assembly of God belief.

Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Debow of Sedgwick, Ar. and Debra Woodson of Pocahontas, Ar.; one son, Ricky Lynn Riggs of Hoxie; two brothers, Kermit Riggs of Cave City, Ar. and Darrell Riggs of Walnut Ridge, Ar.; two sisters, Betty Miller of Selma, Alabama and Ruth Riggs of Manila, Arkansas; five granddaughters; three grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Logan and Elizabeth (Dawson) Riggs,
a son, Ronald Eugene Riggs; and a brother, Glenn.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday June 6, 2003 in the Bryan Funeral Home chapel at Hoxie, with Luther Jones officiating. Burial with full military honors followed in the Randolph Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Pocahontas.

Visitation was 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Stella Marie Riggs
January 26, 1940 - March 4, 2021

Stella Marie Riggs, 81 of Hoxie, died March 4, 2021 at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.

Born January 26, 1940 in Walnut Ridge; daughter of William Jerry and Elzora McCall Price. Stella was united in marriage to Mencil Eugene Riggs on January 12, 1957. She worked in a factory in St. Louis early in her life; She was a loving mother, a homemaker, and of the Pentecostal faith. She enjoyed watching westerns on TV, collecting salt & pepper shakers, making jewelry, and displaying pictures of her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mencil; a son, Ronald Riggs; four brothers, Rev, Jesse, Leroy, Henry, and Nathan Price; and three sisters, Dosha Kifer, Bernice Williams, and Evelyn Murphy.

Survived by two daughters, Sandra (Tony Scott) Leach of Brookland, and Deborah Woodson of Pocahontas; a son, Ricky (Kelly) Riggs of Walnut Ridge; nine grandchildren, Shannon (Jon) Smith, Christine Debow, Michael (Sara) Woodson, J. Stanley (Brandi) Debow II, Eric Woodson, Jennifer (Dylan) Davis, Jessica (Luke) Kasinger, Rhoni and Alley Riggs; twelve great grandchildren; two sisters, Ruby Murphy of East Alton, IL and Helen Murphy of Walnut Ridge; a special adopted daughter, Tammy Nash Prater of Pocahontas; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at 2 P.M. in the Bryan Chapel. Pallbearers will be Michael and Eric Woodson, Stanley Debow II, Dalton, Colton, and Jon Smith. Honorary Pallbearers are Richard Murphy, Steve Tribble, Wink Hackworth, Jimmy Riggs, Junior Murphy, Stanley Debow, Michael Woodson, and John Pyles. Burial will follow in the Randolph Memorial Gardens in Pocahontas.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 12 P.M. till 2 P.M.
