ROGERS — Vida Mildred Marler, 102, of Rogers died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017, at her residence. She was born Sept. 11, 1915, in Lowell, Ark., the daughter of Martha Jane Jones and William Lephley Beard.
Vida was a lifetime resident of Northwest Arkansas and was employed with Daisy Manufacturing for 28 years. She was a longtime member of Temple Baptist in Rogers. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, and was an active member of Liberty Bell Home Extension Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hershel Marler; and six sisters.
Vida is survived by her son, Jerry Marler and his wife Mary Lou, of Rogers; three brothers; Harold Beard of Pea Ridge, Clint Beard and his wife Leota, of Lowell, Layne Beard and his wife Connie, of Pea Ridge; two grandchildren, Greg Patterson and his wife Sarah of Maine, Donna Valentine and her husband Kevin of Conway; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church in Rogers. A celebration of Vida's life will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church in Rogers with Pastor Ron Fields and Pastor Wade Allen officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Creek Cemetery located in Springdale.
