Mrs. Daisy McGowen, 86, of 715 S. Bellott, died in a local hospital Tuesday at 11:45 p.m. Born near Champagnolle, the daughter of Taylor and Sarah Cossart Davis, she was a lifelong resident of Union County and a member of Vantrease Memorial Methodist Church. Survivors include four sons, Frank McGowen, and Elwood McGowen, both of El Dorado, Earl McGowen, of Lufkin, Tex., and Ray McGowen of Nederland, Tex.; two daughters, Mrs. J. F. King and Mrs. C. E. Amason, both of El Dorado; and a number of grandchildren. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Rumph Mortuary. (The El Dorado Times - February 3, 1965)
