Mrs. Ophelia Haney Graves, 80, of Rt. 3 died in a local hospital at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday after a short illness. Mrs. Graves was a 75-year resident of Union COunty. She was born on Jan. 1, 1885, and was the daughter of E. B. and Nancy Hasty Haney. Survivors include two sons, Guy Graves of El Dorado and Roy Graves of Sacramento, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Blanch Murphy of El Dorado; one half-sister, Mrs. W. C. Lanford of Dallas, Tex.; and one half-brother, Harry Haney of Alabama. Funeral services will be held at the Union Church at 2:30 p.m. Thursday with Rev. Hugh Cantrell officiating. Rev. Carter Tucker will assist. Pallbearers will be Elton Murphy, Raymond Haney, Emmett Haney, Lennie Graves, Wallace Graves and Malcolm Graves. Honorary pallbearers will be friends of the family. The body will be taken to the Graves residence on the Union Road at noon Wednesday. (The El Dorado Times - March 24, 1965)
