Carl Smithwick Jr. 86 of El Dorado died Tuesday, August 21, 2012.
He was born December 31, 1925 to Carlie Smithwick Sr. and Mittie Osbon Smithwick.

Carl is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Anita Jo Debo Smithwick, and a son, Donald Ray Smithwick. He spent his working career as a oil field pumper. He was a “Mason” and member of the Masonic Champagnolle Lodge #768. Carl loved caring for his animals and spending time in his garden, but most of all he loved his family. He was also a member of Old Union Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Carl Smithwick (Sheila) of Kilgore, Texas, David Smithwick (Cathy) of Pine Bluff; a daughter Charlotte Smith (Van) of El Dorado, brothers; Billy Smithwick (Emma) and Bernard Smithwick, sisters; Cora Lee Heath, Gladys Porter, Mary Porter and Lola Smith (Will), grandsons; Bobby Mann (Angela), Billy Mann and Brad Smithwick, granddaughters; Beckie Gray (Cory), Misty Sorrells (Mark), Brandi Smithwick and Terri Boring (Mike), great grandsons; Gavin Smithwick, John Michael Gray, Wil Sorrells and Christian Boring; great grandaughters Karlie Mann, Emmie Mann, Taylan Smithwick , Taylor Dawn Boring, Shayne Sorrells and a host of family and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 10am on Friday August 24, 2012 at Old Union Baptist Church Cemetery with Revs. Mack Ables and Brian Williams officiating. Pallbearers include Cory Gray, Mike Boring, John Johnson, Bobby Mann, Billy Mann and Brad Smithwick.Honorary pallbearers include Clem Gills, Oscar Bledsoe and Earl Williams. Visitation will be held from 6-9pm on Thursday August 23, 2012 at Perry’s Funeral Chapels.
