Mrs. Beulah Ellen Gaddy, 82, 1004 Mt. Holly Road, died Wednesday afternoon at a local nursing home following a long illness. She was born in Union County, August 17, 1882, the daughter of Sam D. and Elizabeth Greenhaw Betts, was a lifelong resident of Union County and a member of the Second Baptist Church. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Louis Freeman and Mrs. Henry Hudson both of El Dorado, Mrs. D. M. Hartsell, Stamps, and Mrs. Bertha Puckett, Maplewood, La.; two sons, Morgan S. Gaddy, Augusta and Marion Gaddy, Pine Bluff; one brother, William Harvey Betts, Hempstead, Tex.; six sisters, Mrs. Ola Casey, Hempstead, Tex., Mrs. Ruby Miles and Mrs. Julia Pratt both of El Dorado, ville, Tex., Mrs. Martha Orbison, Corpus Christi, Tex., and Mrs. Dovie Mcgough, Little Rock; 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. The family will be at One North Yocum St. Funeral services have been announced for Friday at 3 p.m. at Second Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Bray officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery under the direction of Rumph Mortuary. Pallbearers will be Oscar Smith, James Hudson, Edward Gaddy, Louis Freeman, Jr, Melvin Poole, Boyd Bates and Collie Vernon. The body will be taken to the church at 2 p.m. (The El Dorado Times - July 1, 1965)
