Mrs. H. C. "Julia" Pratt, 78, of 403 Petroleum St., died unexpectedly Sunday night at a local hospital. Mrs. Pratt was born in the Old Union Community on July 27, 1887, and was the daughter of Samuel and Lizzie Laura Perry Betts. She was a lifelong resident of Union County and was a member of the East Main Baptist Church. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Mary Case of Petersburg, Va., Mrs. Martha Cox of Sherman, Tex., Mrs. Relda Taylor of Strong and Mrs. Faye Boyd of El Dorado; two sons, Malcolm Goodwin of Linwood, Calif., and Lloyd Pratt of El Dorado; one brother, Harvey Betts of Hempstead, Tex.; five sisters, Mrs. Dovie McGough of Little Rock, Mrs. Martha Orbson of Corpus Christie, Tex., Mrs. Peggy Woodard of Kerrville, Tex., Mrs. Ruby Miles of El Dorado, and Mrs. Ola Casey of Hempstead, Tex., eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Rumph Mortuary. (The El Dorado Times - January 17, 1966)
