December 21, 1952 - June 19, 2014
Marilyn Bates Foord, 61 of El Dorado, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2014, at the Medical Center of South Arkansas.
She was born December 21, 1952, to Jesse Eugene and Elizabeth Menke Bates in El Dorado. She worked as a counselor for Arkansas Rehabilitation Services.
Preceding her in death are her parents; brother, Dale Bates; and sister, Barbara McGuff.
Survivors include her loving husband of 41 years, Richard “Ricky” Foord of El Dorado; three children, Carla Fox (Michael) of Bradenton, FL, Bobby Foord (Betsy) of El Dorado, Shannon Shurtleff of Malvern, AR; four brothers, Jimmy, Herbert, Bobby, and Neal Bates; nine grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. tonight at Parkview Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Parkview Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Overton officiating. Burial will follow at Old Union Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
