BAYTOWN, Texas — Dale Marlin Smith, 87, of Baytown, Texas, died on March 31, 2014. He was born on Dec. 11, 1926, in Lowell, Ark., to Archibald and Ida Smith.

He served in the United States Army from 1945 to 1969, earning the Distinguished Service Cross while serving in the Korean War. He retired as lieutenant colonel.

He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska and his MBA from the University of Oklahoma, then went on to work
as a certified public accountant at Guinn and McCurdy in Rogers, Ark., until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathryn Smith Little in 1981; and his wife of 52 years, Barbara Ross Smith in 2005.

He is survived by a sister, Edna Smart of Kemah, Texas; and three daughters, Cynthia Smith Callison and Jana Smith, both of Baytown, Texas, and Patricia Smith of Fayetteville, Ark.

The burial service will be held at Rogers Cemetery on Saturday, April 12, at noon.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Alzheimer's Association.

BAYTOWN, Texas — Barbara Ann Ross Smith, 77, of Baytown died June 8, 2005. She was born Aug. 17, 1927, in Cushing, Okla., to Hoke and Agnes Day Ross. She was a 1949 graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor's in journalism. She married Dale M. Smith on Dec. 27, 1953. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Kathryn Smith Little, in 1981.

Survivors include her husband, Dale Marlin Smith of Baytown; three daughters, Cynthia Smith Callison and Jana Smith, both of Baytown, and Patricia Smith Hodgins of Bellingham, Wash.

Private burial will be in Rogers Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Alzheimer's Association.
