April 29, 1948 - April 6, 1969
Mrs. Frances Ann Koon, 20, of 447 D Ouachita Courts, died early Sunday morning in a local hospital. She was the wife of Robert D. Koon, Jr of Shreveport, Louisiana. Police Chief G. B. Cole said Mrs. Koon died of self-inflicted gunshot wounds. Cole said she was shot in the stomach with a 30-30 rifle. Police received a call on the shooting at 11:20 p.m. Saturday. Other survivors include a daughter, Lorri Ann and a son, James E. Koon of the home; her mother, Mrs. Robert Bull of Camden; three sisters, Mrs. Leonard Whitten of Topeka, Kansas, Wanda Lee and Phylliss Lephiew of Camden; and one brother, Leslie Lephiew of Camden. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at Proctor's Chapel, with burial in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. (Camden News - April 7, 1969)
