Mrs. Virginia "Ginny" O. Hill Fisher, age 91, of Blytheville, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Born to R.O. and Laverna Hill, Ginny graduated from Blytheville High School in 1942. In 1945, she married N. B. Fisher and moved to California. Ginny worked as a civil service employee most of her life. She worked at Aerojet General in Sacramento with the astronauts and met in person the first ones who went up. She worked for a short time at Davis-Monition Air Force base at Tucson, Arizona, and Mather Field in Sacramento. Ginny retired from the Sacramento Army Depot as a private secretary in 1974. She moved back to Blytheville and worked for the Blytheville Air Force Base until it closed. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sisters, Geneva and Sarah Hill. Ginny is survived by her friends and caregivers, Rick and Dot Guthrie of Blytheville; Helen Sandmell, who Ginny considered as close as a daughter; and her precious dog, Angel. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 15th at 2:00 p.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Billy Holifield officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. A gathering of friends will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Condolences may be expressed online at www.cobbfuneralhome.com.
