Shirley was also a member of the Red Hat Society, very witty and outgoing, and loved to shop. She played bridge and loved to entertain her friends. Shirley was also a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her husband of 61 years, William Maurice Sanders, preceded her in death.

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Dale Sanders Hill and her husband, Norman, of Memphis, Tenn; grandson, Elliott Sanders Hill, of Memphis; sister, Bettye Mitchell and her husband Jack of Cleveland, Tenn; nephews, Troy, Curt, Dan, and Tommy Mitchell; and nieces, Jackie Mitchell Frye and Libby Mitchell Perry.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at 11:30 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery, with Dr. Carla Sanderson officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Cobb Funeral Home. Condolences may be emailed to cobbfuneralhome@sbcglobal.net.
