Lucy Catherine Newman, age 91, of Texarkana, Arkansas, died Saturday, August 29, 2008 in a local nursing home.
Mrs. Newman was born August 5, 1917, at Mamoth Spring, Arkansas and had lived in Texarkana for most of her life. She was attended Northside Assembly of God, and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by one son, Lowell Ray Riggs.
She is survived by three daughters, Judy Williams, of Texarkana, Arkansas, Catherine Freeman, of Texarkana, Arkansas, and Leona Williams, Texarkana, Arkansas, two sons, Harold D. Riggs, of Texarkana, Arkansas, and Larry Riggs, of Karnack, Texas, one sister, Jewell Riggs, of Texarkana, Arkansas, 19 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Monday, at East Memorial Gardens with Rev. Ronnie Freeman, Rev. Randy Freeman and Rev. Keith Hampton officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas.
