Alice Gaskin Obituary
Mrs. Alice Carnail (Jacobs) Gaskin, of McCrory, Arkansas, departed this life on Tuesday, September 02, 2014 at the age of 92. She was born September 14, 1921 at Cowlake Community, the daughter of Joe and Cora Jacobs. Miss Alice Jacobs married Mr. Robert Louie Gaskin on August 19, 1942, and they spent 60 years together.
Mrs. Gaskin was a homemaker, and worked alongside her husband on the family farm. She was of the Baptist belief, and enjoyed raising a garden, canning vegetables, and especially loved taking care of her grandchildren.
Mrs. Gaskin was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Louie Gaskin; one brother, Dave Jacobs; two sisters, Leanor Baker and Margaret Reynolds; and one grandson, Ricky Eugene Sides.
She is survived by her daughter, Alice Jean Clark of McCrory; one brother, Shorty Jacobs of Wynne; three sisters, Laverne Robbins of Forrest City, Joyce Kay of Wynne, and Maxine Jacobs of California; and one grandson, Gary Wayne Sides of Beedeville.
Friends may visit at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel, Thursday, 10:00 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Eightmile Cemetery.
