Funeral services were held this afternoon for Bob Fowler, 85-year-old pioneer settler of Mississippi County, who died at his home at Promised Land yesterday noon. The Rev. W. J. LeRoy, pastor of the Lake Street Methodist Church, officiated and burial was made in Elmwood Cemetery. Moss Undertaking Company was in charge of arrangements.
The deceased came to this county 65 years ago and lived in what is now the Reece community until 25 years ago, when he moved to Promised Lane. He was widely known as a farmer with a reputation for dealing fair with all.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rebecca Fowler; one son, Lendennie Fowler of here; two grandchildren, Dennie and Pauline Fowler; two half-brothers, William Lendennie and P. W. Betts of here; a half-sister, Mrs. J. M. Wilson of here; and two step-sons, Mark and Houston Shelton, also of this city.
