Vernon Ray Nutt, 88 of Hampton, died Saturday, November 7, 2015 in El Dorado. He was born October 6, 1927 in Tinsman to the late Jim and Ada Bowen Nutt. He was also preceded in death by six brothers and six sisters.

He was owner of Nutt Logging Inc. for over 50 years. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening, raising cows on his farm, and woodworking. He was a Korean War Army veteran. He was also a deacon and a Sunday School teacher at FBC in Hampton.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a devoted Christian. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Patsy Nutt of Hampton; three children, Iwana (Randy) Castleberry of Harmony Grove, Angie (Randy) Ables of Hampton, and Brian (Lynn) Nutt of Hampton; five grandchildren: Ryan Castleberry of Van Buren and Jesse Castleberry of Fort Worth, Texas, Cody and Wes Ables, both of Hampton, and Sam Nutt of Hampton; and five great grandchildren: Tyler and Taylor Castleberry both of Van Buren, Della, Cy, and Gemma Ables and Paxton Strong all of Hampton.

Visitation will be Monday evening from 6PM until 8 PM at Hampton First Baptist Church. Funeral services are 10AM Tuesday at Hampton First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Campground Cemetery.
