When Katie Arazala Ashabranner-Oldham was born on April 27, 1897, in Arkansas, her father, Mark, was 40, and her mother, Claracy, was 42. She married Millard Lorn Oldham on December 13, 1914, in her hometown. They had six children during their marriage. She died on May 9, 1975, in West Helena, Arkansas, at the age of 78.
