When Grace Watson was born on April 10, 1895, in Yell, Arkansas, her father, John, was 24, and her mother, Esther, was 20. She married Otis B Watson and they had nine children together. She also had one son from another relationship. She died on July 30, 1991, in West Helena, Arkansas, at the age of 96.
