Rita Mae Temple, 90, of Blytheville, Ark., died Tuesday, March 12, 2002, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Blytheville.
Born October 5, 1911 in Gosnell, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Bent and Minnie Moody Parmes. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Temple; and one daughter, Alice Fay Nelson.
She was a lifelong area resident and a member of the Rives Missionary Baptist Church in Rives, Mo.
She was a farm wife who, according to family members, was an avid reader and enjoyed watching television, especially wrestling.
Mrs. Temple leaves one daughter, Charlotte Temple Norrid, of Holland, Mo.; One son, Bob B. Temple, of Gosnell; One sister, Julie Matthews, of Lakeland, Fla.; Two grandchildren she raised: Steve Nelson of Bruce, Miss., and Ricky Nelson of Rives; Four grandchildren; Eleven great-grandchildren; and Seven great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Temple were held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 14, 2002, at the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel in Blytheville with Rev. John Dunavant officiating.
Burial was at the Elmwood Cemetery in Blytheville with Cobb Funeral Home of Blytheville in charge.
