Sarah A. Parkhill was born on February 28, 1853, in Antrim, Antrim, Northern Ireland, the daughter of Sarah and Hugh. She had two sons and four daughters with Orin Elliot Shirkey between 1876 and 1886. She died on November 1, 1899, in Stuttgart, Arkansas, at the age of 46, and was buried there.

When Orin Elliot Shirkey was born on November 4, 1854, his father, Jonathan, was 29 and his mother, Martha, was 20. He had two sons and four daughters with Sarah A. Parkhill between 1876 and 1886. He died on January 16, 1920, in Stuttgart, Arkansas, at the age of 65.
