When Nora Elaine (Lane) Carter was born on October 5, 1936, in Dell, Arkansas, her father, Henry, was 27, and her mother, Vivian, was 20. She married in April 1955. She had two children during her marriage. She died on June 7, 1997, in Clarksville, Arkansas, at the age of 60.
