James "Jim" Clyde White
of Gassville, AR
James C. White, age 76 of Gassville, Arkansas passed away Sunday September 23, 2018 in Gassville, Arkansas. Jim was born on March 07, 1942 in Gassville, Arkansas to Carl R. and M. Arline White (Wahlquist). Jim married Shelia M. Jones on May 29, 1998 and they spent 20 wonderful years together.
Jim owned the contracting company JIMCIN CO. for 45 years before finally retiring. He spent a lot of his working time doing commercial remodeling of hotels and motels for a lot of chain companies all over the country. He did some work booking music shows in Memphis and restoring and refinishing furniture. Jim was of strong Christian faith and he was a member of Gassville Baptist Church. Jim really enjoyed music, dancing, and had a special love for mustang cars. Jim's two biggest passions were NASCAR and Saints football that occupied his Sunday afternoons. Jim was especially proud of the fact that his family was part of the original settlers of Gassville and having streets in Gassville named after members of his family.
He is survived by his wife Shelia M. White; one son: Matthew T. White (Jennifer); four daughters: Jayme S. White (Kevin), Judi M. Graham, Jeana S. Hurst, Lisa A Maraspini; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister: Guyla R. Armstrong (Jon); and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister Sandra D. Goble.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Gassville Baptist Church on Monday October 01, 2018 from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Interment will be private at Gassville Cemetery.
