SPRINGDALE — Edward "Ed" Ray Hice, 72, of Springdale died May 14, 2012, at the Circle of Life Hospice Home in Springdale. He was born July 3, 1939, in Paris, Ark., to the late Martha Lou and Everett Hice.

He was a heavy equipment operator, building many streets in Springdale. He enjoyed playing the harmonica, guitar and singing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Cindy Hice Powell; sister, Ruth; and brother, Raymond.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Hice of Springdale; children, Donna Harvey and husband, Aaron, of Springdale, William Dale Hice and wife, Michelle, of Pettigrew, Ark., Terrie Graham and husband, Dennis, of Goshen, Tammie Smith of Springdale, and Sherrie Stiles and fiance, Mark Ogier, of Green Forrest; siblings, Irene, Bonnie, Mary, Betty Lou, Linda, Everett, Jay N., Debbie, Bo, Ronnie, Jimmy, Buck and Pat; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, May 18, 2012, at Westfield Chapel Funeral Home in Springdale. Memorials may be made to Circle of Life Hospice.

SPRINGDALE — Shirley A. Hice, 72, of Springdale passed away on March 31, 2014. She was born on May 7, 1941, in Lingo, N.M., to Warren J. and Dicie McCoy Turner.

Shirley was married to Ed Hice on Nov. 21, 1958. They were married 53 years until his death in 2012.

Shirley loved gardening, planting flowers and tending to them with loving care. She treasured her frog collection. She cherished her time with her family, and was a devoted mother and grandma. Most of all, she loved the Lord with all her heart.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ed; a daughter, Cindy Lou Powell; a great-grandson, Caleb Linn; four brothers, Roy, Jay, Paul and Buz Turner; and three infant brothers and sisters.

Shirley is survived by her children, Donna Harvey and her husband, Aaron, of Springdale, William Hice and his wife, Michelle, of Pettigrew, Terrie Graham and her husband, Dennis, of Goshen, Tammie Smith of Springdale, Sherrie Stiles of Combs; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Stratton of Stilwell and Joanne Johnson of Springdale; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Westfield Chapel Funeral Home in Springdale.
