When Daisy Mae Roper was born on July 26, 1901, in Arkansas, her father, Edward, was 26, and her mother, Alice, was 26. She married Loyd ' Loy' Bates on December 25, 1916, in Lonoke, Arkansas. They had one child during their marriage. She died on September 26, 1972, at the age of 71, and was buried in Stuttgart, Arkansas.
