When Robert Allen Owens was born on September 5, 1881, in Chatsworth, Illinois, his father, William, was 31 and his mother, Martha, was 27. He married Ola Gertrude Knock on September 27, 1900, in Macomb, Illinois. They had one child during their marriage. He died on August 25, 1970, in Little Rock, Arkansas, at the age of 88, and was buried in Stuttgart, Arkansas.
