Yvonne Amonette Armstrong, 82, of Stuttgart, AR., widow of John Norman Armstrong, died Thursday, February 25, 2010, at Baptist Health Medical Center-Stuttgart.

Mrs. Armstrong was born January 18, 1928, in Mineral Springs, Arkansas, to Samuel Ernest and Marguerite Amonette.

She received a BSE from Henderson State College and retired as a public school teacher in special education. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and an honorary life member of Presbyterian Women of the Church. She was also a member of Arkansas Post Chapter of the Daughters of American Revolution, Manakin Huguenot Society – Texas Branch, Languedoc Chapter of the National Huguenot Society of Texas and Arkansas County Retired Teachers Association.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Samuel Edwin Amonette.

Survivors are two sons, George A. Armstrong and wife Jan of Springfield, Missouri, and Joe Harry Armstrong of Austin, Texas; daughter, Jane Armstrong Vos of Stuttgart; two sisters, Annette Amonette Rodgers of Hope and Marjorie Amonette Chambers of Lindale, Texas; sister-in-law, Esther Amonette of Nashville, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Daniel Vos and wife Nikki of Jonesboro, Natalie Wright and husband Joshua of DeWitt, Wren Armstrong of Springfield and Laine Armstrong of Kansas City, Missouri; and three great-grandchildren Mallory and Lydia Wright and Jacob Vos.

Funeral services were held at First Presbyterian Church with burial in Lone Tree Cemetery by Turpin Funeral Home of Stuttgart.
