Maxine Elizabeth Gullett Howard, 96 of Walnut Ridge; died August 6, 2020 in the Lawrence Hall Nursing Center.
Born July 23, 1924 in Walnut Ridge; daughter of John W. and Della Francis Wilson Gullett. Maxine was a 1944 graduate of the Walnut Ridge High School and a lifetime resident of Walnut Ridge. She was united in marriage to Henry Sanford Howard on February 2, 1946. Maxine was a homemaker, a loving wife, caring mother, and a member of the 1st Free Will Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge. She loved to spend time with her family, read books and make Quilts.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sanford; two brothers, Jewell and David Gullett.
Survivors include her two daughters, Joyce (Kelly) Waddell of Walnut Ridge, and Judy (Darrell) Pierce of Pocahontas; one son, Brooks (Diana) Howard of Black Rock; five grandchildren, Jennifer Hart, Blake Waddell, Julie Fort, Scott and Donny Russell; sixteen great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; one sister, Lucy McCormick of Georgia; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, August 8, 2020 at 10 A.M. in the First Free Will Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge with Bro. Tim Campbell officiating. Pallbearers are Jeff Fort, Terry, Spradlin, Roger Teal, Jack Land, Scott and Donny Russell. Interment will follow in the Cross Roads Cemetery in Portia.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 6 P.M. till 8 P.M. at the church.
