Elder Harold H. DuVall, 58, of Route 2, Box 206, Huntsville Ark., died Oct. 13, 1994, in an accident at his home. He was born June 14, 1936, at White Oak, Ark., the son of Austin Henry and Helen Pauline Woods DuVall. He had begun his 27th year as pastor of the Marble United Baptist Church in Marble, beginning in 1968. He received his credentials from the Union Association of United Baptists in 1963 and served on the Executive Board, Credential Committee and as Moderator for years. He was a charter member of the Marble Volunteer Fire Department and served on the board of directors.
During his years as pastor, he brought 5,103 messages, preached 611 funerals, and 168 revivals. He baptized 207, 477 were saved, and 91 joined the church. He performed 171 weddings. He helped ordain seven preachers and seven deacons. All the money he was given for these duties was given to needy families.
He was the owner and operator of DuVall Logging and a farmer. He was preceded in death by his father, Austin Henry DuVall, on Nov. 15, 1987; and by one brother, Max Vernon DuVall, on Oct. 14, 1940.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Mary Ellen Hargis DuVall of the home, whom he married May 29, 1958; his mother, Mrs. Helen Pauline DuVall of Huntsville; one sister, Mrs. Charlotte "Rea" Holt of Huntsville; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Eula Woods of Springdale; his mother and father-in-law, Beatrice and Willis Hargis; five brothers-in-law, Wayne Holt, Freddie Hargis, Eddie Hargis, James Hargis, and Jerry Hargis; two sisters-in-law, Diann Hargis and Keren Hargis, both of Huntsville; seven nieces, Lauren, Rebecca and Rachel Holt, Angela Coger, Michelle Yarbrough, Megan Hargis, and Amy Hargis; seven nephews, Brad Holt, Greg Holt, Brent Hargis, Mike Hargis, Jerod Hargis, Aaron Hargis, and Dusty Hargis; two great-nieces, Amanda Hargis and Courtney Yarbrough; and three great-nephews, Jason Hargis, Richard Lee Coger III, and Chandler Hargis.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at the Marble United Baptist Church with Elder Rex McMahan, the Rev. Lonny Burks and the Rev. Cecil Garrison officiating. Interment was in the Huntsville Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Brad Holt, Mike Hargis, Dustin Hargis, Greg Holt, Jerod Hargis, Brent Hargis, and Aaron Hargis. Honorary pallbearers were area ministers.

Mary Ellen DuVall, 80, of Huntsville; died Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at Huntsville. She was born Friday, July 12, 1940, at Marble; to Willis Perry and Beatrice Velma Bolinger Hargis.

Mary Ellen married Harold Henry DuVall on Thursday, May 29, 1958 at Berryville. She was a member of the Marble United Baptist Church where she was very active. Mary Ellen was also a member of the Marble Volunteer Fire Department where she served on the Board of Directors. She worked as a former bank teller, an employee of the garment factory, a long time rancher, and worked at Kings River Store for over 15 years.

Mary Ellen was predeceased by her father, Willis; her husband, Harold, one brother, James Hargis, and one nephew, Mike Hargis. She is survived by her mother, Beatrice Hargis of Huntsville; three brothers and three sisters-in-law, Freddie Hargis and Joyce Parker of Marble; Ed Hargis of Miami, Florida; Jerry and Kay Hargis of Huntsville; and Diann Hargis of Huntsville; one sister-in-law, Charlotte "Rea" Holt of Huntsville; nieces, Angela Hargis, Michelle Hargis, Megan and Craig Villines, and Amy Hargis; nephews, Brent and Betty Jo Hargis; Jerod Hargis; Aaron and Kate Hargis; Dusty and Cassidy Hargis; Brad and Renee Holt; Greg and Jenice Holt; and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be 5:30-7:00 PM, Friday, July 31, 2020, at Brashears Funeral Home. Please practice social distancing and face masks are required for entry. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 1, 2020, at Brashears Funeral Home with Lonnie Burks, Coy Siegrist, and Alvin Reynolds officiating. Pallbearers will be Jason Hargis, Jerod Hargis, Dusty Hargis, Kenton Yarbrough, Chandler Hargis, and Richard Lee Coger III. Honorary pallbearers will be Aaron Hargis, Amanda Hargis Dixon, and Tag Villines. Interment will immediately follow services at Huntsville Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
