Mrs. Helen Hood Oenning, age 90, of Bartlett, Tennessee, formerly of Blytheville, passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at her home.

Born in Blytheville to S.M. and Iva Hood, she retired from the Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Service where she worked in both Blytheville and Osceola for 20 years. She was a graduate of Blytheville High School class of 1938, attended Central College in Conway, Arkansas, and was a member of the Bartlett Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilbur Oenning; daughter, Jeanne Oenning Miller; sisters, Mildred Ramey and Lynn Sites; brothers, Gene Hood, Jack Hood and Ken Hood.

She is survived by daughter, Elaine Oenning Evans and Sam Higginbotham of the home; niece, Judy Ramey Renn and husband Dave of El Dorado Springs, Missouri; nephew, Barry Ramey and wife Rita of Fort Smith, Arkansas; brothers, Carl Hood and wife Ann of Memphis, Tennessee and Stanley Hood and wife Alvenia of Columbia, South Carolina; grandchildren, Brad Nation and wife Amy, Leslie Patrick and husband Bryan, Mike Miller and wife Kem, Richard Freeman and wife Lyndsey, and Don Covington and wife Rhonda; 13 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in Elmwood Cemetery.
