Maxine Jones Galbraith, 83, of Lake Charles, LA, died on Saturday, April 4, 2009 in a local hospital. Mrs. Galbraith was born March 18, 1926 in Smackover, AR and has lived in Lake Charles since 1958. She worked as an administrative assistant with the Calcasieu Parish School Board for a number of years and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the Order of the Easter Star and volunteered at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital, Ladies Auxiliary as a Pink Lady. She enjoyed dancing and playing Bridge. She is survived by her children, Bonita "Bunny" Ogea, Rita Young and Bruce Galbraith; brother, Henry Jones; sisters, Mary Lou Craine and Delois Ruth Adams; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Travis Galbraith; brother, Lewis D. Jones. Her graveside service and interment will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 11, 2009 in Arlington Memorial Cemetery in El Dorado, Arkansas under direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.
